Blocked Images in Email Newsletters
The images below show three real-life examples of what happens to
email newsletters when images have been blocked by the recipients
email program.
(Broncos Leagues Club; Dominos Pizza; Mathers Shoe Stores)
Each example shows:
[A] What you see in the preview pane, with images blocked.
[B] What you see when fully opened, with images blocked.
[C] What you were meant to see - the complete email message.
Note the absence of best-practice email newsletter
tactics such as:
-
Using text links
for navigation (not images).
-
Using Alt-text tag
in image properties.
-
Including link to
web version in header of email.
-
Including HTML
text content at top of newsletter.
-
Using caption text
to accompany an image.
